Technical information about this website’s accessibility
eSchools Ltd. is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
-
Compliance status
eSchools Ltd. does not manage the content of the website - this is managed directly by each individual school or trust. Primary and secondary schools or nurseries are exempt from accessibility regulations - except for the content people need in order to use their services. Therefore, statuses will change from school to school and this statement may not cover content added or embedded by the school directly.
However, based on the technical aspects of the site (rather than the content) this website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
-
Non-accessible content:
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulationsSome images do not have a text alternative by default, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information, however schools are encouraged to use the caption option. Nevertheless, we plan to add text alternatives for all images by September 2024.
-
Disproportionate burden
Areas, that we consider to be a disproportionate burden include:
- You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text - although this is an area we may review in due course
- You cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader - we would consider adding this option, however our websites do not employ an overly long header, that users would need to skip past. We are also keen to remind schools not to add too much information to a page, to ensure that returning to the top of any page is easy.
-
Navigation and accessing information
It’s currently not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping, however we look to review this (estimated date: September 2024).
-
Interactive tools and transactions
Any interactive tool supplied by eSchools should be accessible, however we cannot account for any third party tool added by individual schools via the embed option.
-
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Content supplied by eSchools is available in HTML form, however schools are able to upload PDFs and Word documents as required. These can be downloaded and PDFs can be added using the PDF reader tool.
We do not provide live video, and do not have a captioning service to any uploaded video. However, we encourage schools to use video streaming services (such as YouTube and Vimeo) wherever necessary as these include the option of closed captions.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 12 January 2022. It was last reviewed on 7 June 2024.
Each website provided by eSchools is managed by the individual school in question, therefore we do not test each site. We encourage schools to test their own site and we can liaise with them in making their website more accessible. However eSchools have tested a sample of pages across eSchools sites on 7 June 2024.
